It started out with this:
After having played 380 Somer Blink promos, I finally won my first. Followed by winning the very next promo on the same number. Another 1.189B ISK to add to the wallet.
My Blink stats now look like:
Then I had the good fortune to make a 100M ISK bet with CCP Explorer. The Pandemic Legion versus RvB match. I wanted Pandemic. He wanted RvB. I walked away a little richer. Betting space monies is fun, it's a little more fun when it's against a CCP dev (win or lose.)
The next day, I turned around and gave that 100M to a newbie who seemed to be really enjoying the game. I think he might play EVE for awhile. I can remember being gifted 25M ISK by a dude who helped me with a couple missions in my early days. It was put to good use and really helped with the ships and the skillbooks. I'm sure the fellow I gave the money is putting it to good use as well.
I didn't win anything in the Soundwave Soundboard contest. A bit disappointing. I was the only one who tried to puzzle out actual lyrics from all the soundboard files. I had convinced myself I was guaranteed a top three spot for the hard work. Oh well, if they hold the contest next year, at least I know that choosing some good wubwub music (is there such a thing? this seems to be the music of choice among CCP devs) is more important than doing anything unique with the soundboard itself. (Yes, slightly bitter.)
My Sunday bracket was looking damned good for the first 4 matches, then completely fell apart from there. But no matter, because it was such a stellar day of matches. My favourite was definitely the Agony match, because it threw everybody for a loop. I recall looking at their seven ships and thinking "What the hell, Agony? You're supposed to be a premiere PvP alliance, having the very best PvP classes. What the hell is this setup?" They were going to lose in the first three minutes, or so I thought, along with the other 12000 people watching the stream. And then magic happened, and Agony's genius was revealed. (Agony did end up losing, but that doesn't negate the genius of their setup.) If Exodus recorded their comms for that match, I would love to hear it. (If it is available and someone has a link, please post it. Edit: see comments for the link. The comms are epic.)
After the tournament wrapped up, Minmatar folks made another push for T5 warzone control. With Nulli Secunda soon to enter the fray, we're expecting it could be our last for quite awhile. I figured this was coming, so spent 5 hours during the week, racking up LP through missions. By the time we hit T5, I had 523K LP. I didn't go with ammo this time. Mainly stuck with datacores and 3% gunnery implants. Walked away with 3.3B ISK in profits. Which pushed my total wallet balance to eleven figures for the very first time. Not space rich like many, but that will keep me going for awhile.
A good EVE-packed weekend.

Heyo!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you're doing well. I'm getting a more stable gaming connection though some sites aren't loading right on any browsers in-game or out of it.
Cheers!
I had missed that Agony vs Exodus. fight, thanks for pointing me towards it, that was quite the setup.
ReplyDeleteHere you go fraps from Exodus and our match:

Thanks, man! Exactly what I expected. Epic comms!
DeleteThanks for posting the link, much appreciated.
DeleteGrats on 11 figures. I hope to get there before summer ends :)
ReplyDeleteDarn you! I've put in a fair bit more than you into Blink and it seems I've lost a lot more! Plus you seem to be cashing in on all your winnings instead of replaying them...
ReplyDeleteI never put my winnings back into Blink credit ... that's a good way of not winning anything.
DeleteEven considering, seems you've won a fair bit more than I have! Lucky dog :D
DeleteI have lost 0.5B ISK at EOH Poker, which is probably why I no longer play EOH poker.
DeleteFor Blink, most of my winnings now are from Promos, Acheivement credit, and Blink Credit (when I buy GTCs through them.) Though I've enough money that I can pay for my game with Plex for quite awhile now.
